Eat Dessert for Breakfast

raw energy balls

Sounds crazy, but this decadent-tasting recipe from “The 21-Day Superstar Cleanse” by Rainbeau Mars, Hollywood health and fitness guru, is actually really good for you—and there’s no reason the fruit- and nut-packed bites can’t be enjoyed at any time of day. Their small, portable size makes them an easy choice for busy weekday mornings, and they’re a tasty little solution to that afternoon slump. Try rolling them in coconut flakes, crumbled pistachios or raw cocoa powder for extra texture and flavor.

Morning Bliss Balls

1 cup raw, organic walnuts
1 cup dates
1 pinch Himalayan pink or Celtic sea salt
1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon coconut oil (or olive oil, depending on your desired texture and consistency)
Optional: 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon moringa powder

Combine walnuts, dates, coconut oil, vanilla powder and cacao or moringa powder (if using) in a food processor, and mix until ingredients blend like dough. Empty contents into a bowl and, with clean hands, roll teaspoon-sized amounts of dough into balls and set on a plate or cookie sheet. Place the balls in the fridge or freezer until firm, and then serve. Optional: For extra bliss, roll balls in shredded coconut, cinnamon, spirulina or cacao!
